Lucky number 7

We have been letting our chickens out to eat during the day for the past few months and that plan has seemed to work well for us. We even decided several weeks back (when it was 105 out) that we probably didn't need to shut them in at night, that way the girls didn't have to go down to let them out in the morning. That plan even worked well...up until 2 nights ago. When I went to put the chickens up Wednesday night I could only find 8...hmmm...I thought. I searched the area and found only a few trace feathers...no other parts. When the chickens have been killed in the past I have always been able to find some evidence of it. At that point I figured whatever got the one chicken must have done it during the day and they would probably be ok...silly me! Before we left on our excursion today I went down to check on the chickns and yep, you guessed it another one completely gone...I don't know what is eating/taking our chickens but I guess we will be shutting them in at night again...at least it is not 105!
